The VSS Vintorez is a Russian GP Sniper Rifle introduced in the 03-15-12 Update. This rifle can be bought in the Shop, and is unlocked at the rank of First Lieutenant/II.
Overview
Like the SR-25, the VSS is integrally suppressed. This, however, also predisposes it to lower damage compared to other semi-automatic rifles, though its damage is higher than the SR-25's. The near-perfect accuracy of this sniper rifle allows professional snipers to easily pick off heads of shoulderpeekers and campers from across Kill Creek. Aiming with the Chevron scope may be a challenge, as this scope is different than the usual TRG or L96A1 scope. There is little to no damage drop-off on this weapon making it ideal for campers and snipers in large maps. The near-silent report of the VSS obscures the shooter's position, making sniping a whole lot easier.

Trivia
- The VSS is one of the most silent sniper rifles in the game, rivalling the MSR.
- The VSS, along with the Dragunov series and the M110 SASS, are the only true semi-automatic snipers in this game. The PSG-1, M39 families, SR-25, MSG-90 and the M14 EBR are 'enhanced' and are capable of automatic fire whereas, the true semi-automatic rifles shoot once per click.
- This weapon is the second GP Standard with an variant, Lynx's VSS.
