*preface: I suck at intelligent writing*

So I've recently came back to check up on the wiki, and to be honest, I'm not surprised... if you haven't noticed by now, there's a pattern to how events on the wiki pans out.

Generally speaking, this is the ideal process of how things "should" go:

proposition/new ideas > collective brainstorming > implementation of improvements

This, however, is the wiki's flowchart:

proposition/new ideas > yes/no >  implementations > stagnation > reversion

Ever since the departure of Epax and Dynasty (AKA MadCrayolas), the flow of new ideas have just... well stop (for a lack of a better word). It is as though there's a lack of dedication in making things work, myself included. Even when looking back to propositions that could potentially change everything, supporters seemed to just be along for the ride, forgetting it in time. The irony is that the only implementations still enforced is the one without community approval (or having gone through the system). Cooperation on this wiki isn't what it used to be; nobody compromises for the benefit of the future anymore.

The majority of the recently proposed propositions aren't anything new either, they've been requests for elevated user privileges. If this was a busy wiki, I could see the need for a number of moderators, admins, and others to help filter the traffic, but this is not the case on our wiki. We have a small number of dedicated people interested in editing, and they themselves don't break rules. We haven't seen many periods of malicious editing, but it is easily reversible when it does occur, something even an anon can do. So then why would we need more mods and admins when we, as regular users, can already do what they can? There's little point in arguing/debating/fighting over positions and titles; if you want to be an admin because you want to change how the wiki looks, not how the wiki works, make your own wiki. Seriously, our quarrels are incredibly superficial, just take a step back and examine the cause of each incident.

Lastly, I'll paraphrase a question Dynasty has asked in the past: "Where do we want our wiki to be?" If this is all we're ever going to be, then I fear that this is the decline. However, we got a system to put out ideas, work it.
