The Heckler & Koch Universal Machine Pistol is a Sub Machine Gun, and the GP-Standard variant of the UMP series.
Overview
The UMP strays from the common characteristics of submachine guns by having a significantly lower rate of fire, but in turn has a far higher damage count per round. This results in approximately 4-shot kills at an optimal range of 20 meters.
A patch in October 2008 — which may have been a response to calls for balancing — raised the recoil rating, which had dropped its popularity for a short period of time.
Nevertheless, the UMP continues to to be a popular choice amongst players due to it having a low rank-unlock and one of the highest damage ratings for a compact primary weapon.

Events
- The UMP LE, statistically equivalent, was offered for permanent duration during the following events:
- During the Best of 2010 Sale, for 100,000 GP.
- During the NeX-Mas Sale, at a price of 70,000 GP.
- During the One Day GP Sale, August 8th, 2013, for 90,000 GP.
- Like other LE weapons, it cannot be forged at the Gun Emporium to obtain the Thompson for permanent duration.
Trivia
- This weapon was once offered for permanent through a Default Weapon Change. As of the 2-3-10 Patch, Default Weapon Changes have been removed from the Black Market and are no longer available.
- This, and its LE variant, is the only weapon in its family (excluding its forged variant) to not come pre-attached with an iTech sight.
