The NEMEXIS Outbreaks were the events that took place during and after Operation:Overdose.
Origins[]
The NEMEXIS Corporation was creating a drug (Stamina Kit) that would reduce the fatigue that soldiers gained from the stress that war and battle had put on them. The prototype was tested on a soldier in the Overdose lab. Unfortunatly, something went wrong. The soldier reacted strangly to the drug and became what is now known as The Infected.
A team of UAF soldiers were sent in to retrieve the drug sample, and fought the infected in the lab. After the situation, the lab was "Cleansed" of all traces of evidence. However, NEMEXIS continued their research on the drug and the infected. It soon became sloppier and sloppier, though, and eventually one of the infected escaped, and the outbreaks began.
