Hailing from the US, this shotgun sports an innovative design of twin magazines, allowing the Kel-Tec KSG to be compact in length but ready to unload 14 shells in succession.

Overview[]

This shotgun was released on 1/6/2012 in Combat Arms NA, and on 05/30/2012 in Combat Arms EU.

As many players presumed before it came out, this is a pump-action shotgun, feeling somehow similar to the R870 family, with some little differences. Compared to the NX-Standard R870 MCS, the only difference is a damage upgrade, from 80 to 82 (the same as the Jackhammer's), easily noticeable in-game. At time, this gun is capable of killing a light vest and seldom, a medium vest player in the back with one shot.

The gun's portability is 67, therefore comparable to the most popular shotguns. Recoil is 60, but the slow rate of fire (at 17) makes it really easy to aim shot after shot.

The major difference with other pump-action shotguns is that this one has a HUGE ammo size (14/28) coupled with a fast reload (comparable with the Remington 11-87P's). However, the most evident feature that links this gun with the Remington family is its low spread, which allows the player to aim really easily for heads and to shoot at a bit further range compared with other shotguns.

It has a huge damage drop-off, making the number of shots needed to kill to increase from 2 to between 3-4. It has a pre-attatched foregrip, slight upwards climb on recoil when fired in succession, and has a firing sound that is distinct at close ranges.

Many players will choose the Jackhammer over this gun due to its automatic firing features and same damage. Moreover, the pump action feature of the Kel-Tec reduces the recoil considerably. Players would then have to decide whether they want faster firing rate shotguns (e.g. Jackhammer, M4 super 90 and AA-12) or more portability and stable firing (e.g. Kel-Tec KSG, M590 Mariners and R870 MCS).
