An Infected's Hide (or skin) is their main source of protection. Depending on the type of vest worn prior to infection, an Infected's hide may offer more or less endurance.
Background[]
The Infected have abnormally thick skin, which protects them from all types of damage. Since their protection comes from their skin, it also allows them to move quickly without suffering from any loss of speed.
Quarantine[]
As of 5/28/2017, the amount of HP provided by each type of vest is featured below.
Note that the lighter your vest, the less HP you will have once you are Infected. At the same time, your vest speed prior to Infection becomes irrelevant—as all Infected have the same speed.
- Ultralight Vest- 200 HP for Host Infected and 135 for Viral Infected
- Light Vest- 225 HP for Host Infected and 150 HP for Viral Infected.
- Recon Vest- 225 HP for Host Infected and 150 HP for Viral Infected.
- Tactical Vest - 275 HP for Host Infected and 185 HP for Viral Infected.
- Tactical+ Vest - 275 HP for Host Infected and 185 HP for Viral Infected.
- Medium Vest- 300 HP for Host Infected and 200 HP for Viral Infected.
- Combat Vest - 300 HP for Host Infected and 200 HP for Viral Infected.
- Balanced Vest- 330 HP for Host Infected, and 230 HP for Viral Infected.
- Assault Vest- 330 HP for Host Infected and 230 HP for Viral Infected.
- Heavy Vest- 350 HP for Host Infected and 235 HP for Viral Infected.
- Tanker Vest- 375 for Host Infected and 250 for Viral Infected.
- Commando Vest- 400 HP for Host Infected and 275 HP for Viral Infected.
Mutagens[]
Mutagens are NX-standard Quarantine-Exclusive items that allow you to transform into a Striker or Crusher.
If you choose to transform into one of these forms, you will have the same amount of HP regardless of what vest you were wearing before; though the difference in health between a Host and Viral infected still exists.
- Striker Mutagen: 285 HP as Host, 185 HP as Viral (with unlimited Stamina)
- Crusher Mutagen: 450 HP as Host, 305 HP as Viral (with faster recovery of HP and more base HP.
