The Howa Type 89 was an assault rifle released on December 14th, 2011.
Overview[]
Its high accuracy helps at long range encounters. However, it suffers from prolonged, automatic firing; its bullet spread tends to open up sooner than the M4A1. Because the accuracy is quickly lost on automatic bursts that are more than five rounds, controlled tap-firing or the use of the rifle's burst function for distant targets can reduce the number of misses. Damage rating is decent, although slightly lower than the aforementioned carbine, the Type 89 compensates that for a higher rate of fire to deliver more rounds per second to the target. Its rate of fire is higher than most average assault rifles.
This rifle has a comparable draw speed/animation and reload animation to the M416.

Events[]
- The Howa Type 89 was on sale for permanent duration for 60,000 GP during Combat Arms' 6th Anniversary.
Trivia[]
- Its high fire rate gives the weapon high recoil and spread making it an unfavorable gun for most players.
- The Howa Type 89 is the only Assault Rifle from Japan in Combat Arms and is also one of the few weapons made from Asia. Other examples are the VB Berapi LP02, M99-II, and the QBZ-95.
- This along with the M417 SB, M14 Hunter, the SG550/SG556family, FAMAS family are the only Assault Rifles equipped with an unusable bipod, though the FAMAS's and SG550/SG556's are not folded out.
