“ | The MP40 was the submachine gun of choice in Germany during World War II. Also known as the Schmeisser, it is a reliable workhorse on the battlefield. | ” |
— Item Description |
The MP40 is a 3-Star Bronze Grade Historic Submachine Gun and was first released on the Contract Killer Content Update (9/19/12) as a forgeable weapon.
Overview[]
The MP40 used to be obtainable by forging a MAC-10 with 7 FH-Replica Pallets in the Gun Emporium. This method no longer works as you cannot obtain FH-Replica Pallets anymore and the MP40 is no longer available as an option for forging. It is available for direct purchase in the NX Shop for NX, but is not available for rent with GP.
It has an excellent spread recovery for a close-quarters weapon, coupled with an extremely fast draw rate and reload. One major downfall of this weapon are the modifications; it is unable to attach any Suppressor, Scope, or Magazine modifications.
Compared to it's used-to-be-forgeable-with GP-Counterpart, the MAC-10, the MP40 has the same amount of weight, does 4 more points of damage, has a higher accuracy by 1 point, a greatly reduced amount of recoil by 13 less points, and a slightly bigger ammo count by 2 additional bullets per magazine (8 bullets more in total giving it an ammo count of 32/96). That being said, the MP40 has a 42 points decrease in fire rate and lacks weapon modifications compared to the MAC-10 which can attach all mods.
