Draws crosshair on screen, even if the gun does not have one |
The Crosshair Hack is probably one of the oldest and most used hacks in Combat Arms. While many guns give the player a crosshair on screen when using them, certain guns like Sniper Rifles only offer a crosshair while one is scoping with it. This has probably been done to balance the game, as there are bolt-action shot snipers, like the L96A1, that would become overpowered otherwise. The crosshair hack makes sure that there is always a crosshair drawn in the center of the hacker's screen, no matter what gun they are using. Usually the hack offers the possibility of drawing bigger crosshairs, or crosshairs in other colours. The crosshair hack can be detected only if the Hacker takes screen shots and uploads it for the community to see, without realizing they had the hack running. It is especially detectable if the hacker has taken a screen from the lobby or somewhere else, as one would see a crosshair even though he/she was not in-game.
A spin-off of the crosshair hack is when players use transparent sticky tape on their screens to position where a crosshair would usually be drawn or (if they own a fairly old monitor) may use a whiteboard marker to pinpoint the crosshair dot on the glass screen. This is referred to as an unpatchable hack, as no one could possibly know they were doing it without inspecting their screens.
Reporting Hackers[]
Every hacker should be reported, however make sure you are 100% sure that he/she is hacking before reporting. Helping a hacker or benefiting from a hacker is against Nexon's Terms of Service and is one way to become suspended and possibly banned from the game.
