“ | A light machine gun based off of the AKM. It has an extended barrel, a drum style magazine, and is equipped with a bipod. | ” |
— The Arsenal |
The RPK (Ruchnoy Pulemyot Kalashnikova, Russian: Ручной пулемёт Калашникова or "hand-held machine gun of Kalashnikov") is a Russian Light Machine Gun. It is based on the AKM with a 100-round drum Magazine to fit into the Machine Gun category.
Overview[]
The RPK is one of the lower-ranked machine guns in the Shop, with a Staff Sergeant III requirement or higher. Because of the machine gun's fairly low spread, it is dangerous at short and medium distances. The RPK bridges the gap between the K3 and the MK.48, with firepower the same as the AK, and with a modest fire rate that most AK's have. In addition, compared to other machine guns, the RPK's draw and reload animations are slightly faster.
Variants[]
Events[]
- The RPK was sold for permanent duration for Combat Arms Brazil's Black Friday 2013 sale for 90,000 GP.
Trivia[]
- The actual RPK's drum magazine holds 75 rounds instead of 100. This change was probably made to be on par with the in-game machine guns.
- In real life, the RPK is a more "specialized" version of the AKM (which in turn is the modernized version of the AK-47), replacing notable exterior parts (interior, too, but it's just a game-play item here) for more reliability and better performance as a support weapon. The longer barrel with bi-pod was added to increase durability and accuracy from continuous fire, and the stock was replaced along with a larger magazine.
