“ | A semi-automatic sniper rifle from the former Soviet Union. Its fire rate and stopping power make it highly effective for taking down moving targets. | ” |
— The Arsenal |
The Dragunov SVD (Snayperskaya Vintovka Dragunova) is a GP-Standard Sniper Rifle that made its first appearance after the 12-16-08 Patch.
Overview[]
The Dragunov SVD stands out from the other low rank-unlock snipers due to its scope. The scope is not the usual green Mil-Dot reticle; instead, it uses what's called a PSO-1 scope. Along with that, it is semi-automatic, like the M110 SASS. The SVD is one of the most powerful semi-auto sniper rifles, but it still cannot kill an enemy with full HP within a shot. The Dragunov SVD suffers from high recoil, in comparison to the other semi-auto snipers. The Dragunov SVD also requires the rank of Staff Sergeant/I to purchase in the Shop.

Trivia[]
- The SVD shares the same running and reloading animation with the SG550 and AK-103
- The RPKs MOD and RPK-74M also has the SVD (PSO-1) scope.
- When zoomed in, the PSO-1 scope darkens the screen a little, compared to other scopes. This is likely due to its characteristic lens hood, which helps block out stray light to improve image quality.
